Like.. if I just registered a domain a couple days ago. Made my first post. Submitted to Google and now the homepage and post are listed when doing "site:domain", but cannot find the post searching by the title. I can do "site:domain <title of page> and it pulls it up, but "domain <title of page>" doesn't come up with it at all. It only comes up with 4 pages of google results, and mine is not listed at all.

Does this most likely mean I am being penalized for something? Or is there anyway to tell for sure?

Appears to be fine on there. Whoops.. One thing I forgot to mention is that when I google "domain <title of page>, the homepage is actually coming up, just the post is not coming up anywheres unless I use site:

It was just indexed earlier to day so I'm not too sure if it maybe has to wait a bit longer, or if maybe I'm being penalized for something.

If you see your page its not penalized or de-indexed from google.

Isn't there types of penalties where Google does not de-index your site? And they would instead just lower your ranking somehow?

It's just really strange. Because I can see it under "site:domain <title of page>", but not "domain <title of page>".

If you just made your site it probably isn't indexed yet. Give it some time.

Why don't you check your Google Webmaster Tools account to find out if you have problems?

Thank you for the good idea bigdad09260. I actually haven't started using the Google Webmaster Tools yet, but I'm going to signup right now.

As for the site not being indexed on google, wouldn't it be indexed already if I can find it doing "site:domain"?

not sure i bet you meant one of these.

deindexed : when your domain is completely removed from google. also known as banned.

penalized : when your domain or page still exists but none of your pages can be found through very direct search queries. this penalty can be automatic through the google algorithm or manually applied by a google quality engineer.

sandboxed : your domain or page wasn't deindexed or penalized, but the traffic you were getting from google suddenly drops dramatically.

Nevermind. I just checked again and I can now find it! :) It looks like the domain gets added to google's "site:" lookup faster than it actually gets indexed on Google for others to be able to search the keywords.

Google Webmaster Tools is the best tool to check it.

yes why not to check the site with Google Webmaster tools! as you just registered your site, than I guess you need to wait for more time to see your indexed pages.

It doesnot mean that it is penalized. You must check keywords and bbacklinks and proper SEO.

It means you are finally indexed but your site is not ranking and has no PR.

Not true often times Google will not send anything to you unless your website was high profile.

I would think twice about using webmaster tools especially if you're using even slightly blackhat techniques...
