    Hi,

If I research someones website, how can I tell if he is using 301 redirect? Is there a way?

I am using majestic seo, not sure if this is build in or if there is another too. thanks.

Impossible if they are from another website. They are 'one way', so there is no way to find out if other websites are 301 directing into a website.

Of course easy to find internal 301's

if you are checking internal links or something
    then you can check headers
    it will give
    301
    302
    or 404

Won't viewing the headers just give the 301 links you go through?

Example if site A 301s to Site B and you visit site A and view the headers then it will show a 301 redirect.

If you visit site B directly then you will not see that site A is 301'ing.

I think the OP is asking for a way to see what sites 301 to yours, when you're giving the main site. I would like to know this also.
Otherwise technically there is no way of knowing unless you're following the "link trail" or know the 301'd domain.

If a way exist I am unaware. However, I know of a way that might point you in the right direction

1.go into whois and copy domain info if public.
    2.search contact info
3.visit domains you can find and see if they 301.

I am unsure if they still have this anymore but domaintools used to have a report which was a summary of domains by a particular owner.

Like I said it isn't a guarantee but it just might get you to where you want...
