    Hello,

I am trying to purchase a domain from SEDO which perfectly fits the name for a new site i will be building.

I just want to make sure that this domain was not penalized in the past.

Here are the checks i did:

    1. It is indexed on google
    2. It dosent show any SPAM content on waybackmachine (archive.org), it was just a wordpress blog in 2013 and an old company website in 2004.
    3. According to ahrefs it has 100 do-follow backlinks and 150 nofollow. Nothing spectacular in terms of backlink profile.
    4. Anchor text for this backlinks seems legit, so spam or overused anchors.

I am just wondering what other checks can i do? I just dont want to throw 100$ away if this domain was penalized in the past.

Sounds like a clean domain. Check SEMRush traffic history graph and if there is a sudden drop that might be a red flag.

Go to Archive.org and search for the domain. Previous versions of the site will show you if the domain has a history of spamming.

There are no traffic data on SEMRush for this domain.

    Already did that.

I was just asking if there are more checks to be done. And about the 100$ for some it maybe nothing, but to me it is something i dont want to risk that much.

    Hello,

The way to check if the domain was penalized before

=>Search on google for a website name.
=>Search for the URL and check its rank number.
=>Check the sitelinks under the domain name.
=>Search the some text grabbed from the site.
=>Search for a few meta titles, if the complete title is not ranked then it could be a problem.
=>If the site don't have page rank then its red flag.
=>Ask the Site owner for the overall traffic graph.
    =>Look at the moz rank.

something i found was that just because it looks clean on waybackmachine , doesnt mean it is. I bought a domain clean on wbm and majestic, turned out to be deindexed.

I know you're trying to get sales and post count up but focus on commenting some quality feedback instead of repeating the obvious and what was already said :/ Just my advice, especially if you want "rank sonic" to look like a superior service.
