Anotehr option might just be to mail to it? If you dont have a mailing system that includes checking for bounces, then you should get one!

Check this site out - I just found it completely by accident, they have an online checker of email address validity, but they also have a demo of a software that they are working on, I have not tested it myself, but it sounds like it might be what you are after...
