For some reason, my icon is this weird little star thing. I'm not sure, but I think I got it from the heatmap theme I used. I removed it an am now using another theme, but it still has that little address bar icon. Any help?

That's a default one comes with Heatmap theme. Use any favicon plugin to change the same.
    Code:
    [url]http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/favicon-generator/[/url]

    Open Google.com

    Search "Favicon maker"

Go through it and get your icon generated.

    Upload it to your public_html

Insert this line in your theme header

    And you are done.

If you want it something amazing, google "Animated favicons" and repeat rest of the steps.

You know, its all in google :)

since it came from the theme, get a new icon and replace the favicon.ico file in the theme directory whit the new one. Then you don´t need to alter any codes

Is there any way I can have no icon? I don't really want an icon

EDIT: Never mind all, thank you for the help, It seems that if you clear the cache, it removes it. It's in the small text at the bottom of the favicon generator. This thread was not entirely useless, without cyber's suggestion of favicon generator, I would have not read the text. Thanks + Rep given to all.

Well you actually don't need to have one, but a favicon does make it look like you're a little more serious about your site which can help make a slightly better impression to your visitors. You don't even need to stick with the icon provided with any theme. It's fairly easy to create a custom one that will match the topic or concept any time you make a new site.

Also every time you get a visitor to your site their browser will request the favicon, if you don't have one your server will generate an error code for that file. It's a fairly trivial resource load, but all it takes to eliminate that error is include a favicon.ico in your web root folder.

For those reasons it makes sense to just include one.

If you really don't want one though, all you need to do is delete favicon.ico from your root folder and make sure you don't have any other icon file defined by a link REL="SHORTCUT ICON" HREF in the head section of your pages.

As you already figured out (as indicated by your edit) the icon s persistent, it's saved locally for anyone who has visited your page before. Until their cache is cleared or updated the icon will still show for them, but it will eventually disappear. For new visitors they'll only see the favicon if one still exists.
