I have been running a program on YouTube and I think I may have been banned. I can go you YouTube but when I click on a video or try and login I get a white screen. I have contacted my ISP and they told me to reboot my modem and wireless router. I have gone into system on my computer and done the ip config renew to get a new ip address. After all of this I still get the same ip adress that shows up when I go to whatsmyipaddress.com.

All of my computers have the same ip address when I check them on the above site and I can't seem to change it. What am I missing here? Did YT block something else? Why can't I change the IP address that websites see?

I am willing to pay for a service that changes my IP. If you know a good one please let me know.

    :wink1:

If you are using a modem you should be able to reset it to get a new ip. Just make sure that you also clear out your cookies.

I you are on a cable line then look into a program called TOR. It is easy to setup and you can change your ip fairly easily.

Go to digital point or another site and look for a dynamic vpn. It will make it so every time you connect to the vpn you will get a different ip.

Also make sure to clear your cookies (in Firefox that is under Tools -> Options -> Privacy)

tor is a good free proxy, even tho it slows the net down considerably sometimes

    edit: oops, wrong post.

Yeah, tor seems OK but you never know where your IP is coming from so I find that, while it's OK to access sites like YT and MySpace, you can't use it for eBay or CL.

So so many ways to get new ip addresses. You may want to look into socks5 proxies. They are very fast and very reliable.

I have them if you need.

    Best,

Thanks for all of the quick replies. I am using Hide my IP right now and I can now watch YouTube videos from my computer. However, there are still 4 other computers in my house that still show the same ip address on all of them and are blocked from YT. Is there a way to change the IP for all of the computers without downloading a program on to them?

this is more for others who might have simolar problems -- just saw your page 2 posts

if you actually get to the pages but the spot where the video is supposed to be is blank:

you might need to update or reinstall your flash plugins. they get corrupted; the caches need to be emptied. restart everything.

also if you are using flash blockers, spyware blockers, if you have no-script on firefox, if you have denied/blocked cookies, modified host files, using netbarrier, zone alarm, various other ad blockers, privoxy, etc, that 'protection/security' app or scripts may be blocking the embedded content ...

i can't tell from your post exactly what you're seeing. but these things also frak up videos and embedded content too; and as such doesn't have anything to do wi/ being banned.

what about some of the utils/applets that do MAC adddress spoofing for the other computers?

    I would use: https://www.torproject.org/torbrowser/

It saves all the work from having to set up TOR yourself. It's all pre configured with firfox and pidgin IM inside and very nice. Admittedly it's slow though.

    Home Page:
ADSL: Log off, log back on (90% of the time this works unless you're static). New IP

CABLE: Log into your router, change the WAN MAC address, then without releasing your current IP, power off your modem, then router, then turn back on the modem until it sync's, then turn back on the router. New IP.

DIALUP: Log off then log back on. Unless you live in a VERY small city you will get a new IP almost every time.

    Alternate Solutions:

    -Proxies
    -VPN services
    -SSH Tunnels
