Let's assume that keyword "valentines gifts" is searched 100.000 times per month according to Google's keyword tool.

Let's also assume that 100% of people use this keyword in Google only in February, so nobody search for "valentines gifts" through the rest of the year.

Now, how does keyword tool calculate the number of searches for trend keywords? Does Google show the average search count per month for the whole year, so in reality there would be 12 * 100.000 = 1.200.000 searches for "valentines gifts" in February?
