Ok so, I've been buying private proxies which are "ok" but they're slow and I know there are much cheaper ways of putting traffic through multiple IP addresses. I don't plan on these IP's ever been blocked or blacklisted so I don't need a new set every month.

Whats the cheapest way for me to get 600+ IP addresses and actually be able to make use of them. I checked with my host and the most they'll allow me to add to my VPS package is 7. Is this normal!? Probably to prevent spamming I guess.

How many IP addresses can you assign to a dedicated server, whats the actual physical limitation? Are there hosts that will allow you to add a large amount of IPs to a machine/vps with them? I looked at arin.net, can an individual simply buy IP address from them? It doesn't look like you can?

I have very little understanding of this area, can someone point me in the right direction or give me a brief over view?

p.s yes i know you cant actually "buy" IP addresses, perhaps rent is a better word

I'd also like to know how to do this, I'm sick of proxy vendors as most are garbage. I'd love to get a ton more IPs in the mix for various activities.

virgin don't use static ip there all dynamic unfortunately.

virgin use to let you get as many ip for your games consoles but that all gone

there are other Internet providers that do offer additional ip address , but they wont uplift there bandwidth at all ,

i did setup all my computers from home, i had a email server, and web server ,and and database server, but unfortunately i had to use a 3rd party dns service, to get it all going properly , was fun

the only reason i setup everything via home was i was doing the mcse exam......

How many IP addresses can you assign to a dedicated server, whats the actual physical limitation?

To use so many ip address, your going to setup a dns server to provide the static ip address to a dynamic ip address to save on costs , the same if you just use the ip address directly your still need to setup a dns server and also learn apache inside out to totally control your ip addresses.

200-300 million via Microsoft server it only a number so it uses the dns database.

your bandwidth will be another story and supplied from let say bt and then your need a really good router.

took me 4 years to understand/and do in practice to setup properly.

    so good luck.

    look up mcse 2015

know i use a proxy service and dedicated windows box ......

with the electric and all that cost at home it so much cheaper renting....

a company called https://www.ripe.net/ can sell you ip address/or help get them but you need to provide a business plan and explain why you need them and prove you can financially afford them.

    i personally was refused them.

    they come in

    64
    128
    256
    512
    1025

batches i dont no there current prices.

you can also goto level 3, at the strand in London, and ask there, but i am sure your need also to rent a cubicle, and gigabyte pipe line and then approach ripe.com with a business plan, i have worked at the level 3 building so i no it can be done,

regarding virgin uk residential ips, they are at least at our place, tied to the mac address of the router/modem
so basically we've got this damn ip all the time
changing the hub's mode to modern mode would give us a new ip I've read

thanks for the info above, will investigate
I need to get smarter with server side business - as there is money to be made
    more servers, more websites

you can actually buy a dedicated server from let's say OVH, and get 64 IPs on that server. say that it's for business use, and the IPs are for virtual PCs that are compulsory in your 'special software' that requires them to work.
