    Hey folks,

I think the title says it all. My Blog is listed in Google News and even if I get information 60 - 120 minutes earlier up then my competion and being listed in Google and featured with googles new news-layout and amp-layout, I get outranked as soon as one of my competitors publishes the same story with less content or lower quality content.

And as here are a lot of starters I was wondering how people can increase their trust and domain authority towards Google without spending money. Of course linkbuilding, but I don't like hi-jacking comment-sections.

Sometimes we get picked up by bigger YouTube Channels als News-Source. In my niche no one really links to other blogs or websites within this niche, cuz they're afraid of loosing anything.

I also don't want to try and intrude Wikipedia heavily. I nearly got blacklisted once for adding to many links (which were like 2 or 3) and got a warning.

So from my understanding the only way to increase trust and authority is by building up more quality content and get our readers to share the stories across their social media networks or whatsapp.

But maybe there is something I completely missed or haven't thought about and someone could give me and the other bloggers on here some advice? As I said, there is no real budget for Marketing.

    Thanks a lot in advance

    Cheers

A couple of things that you need to keep in mind: 1) spread of news: Include as many trending news as you can in the shortest period of time. 2) always credit your news sources, including pictures3) Don't rewrite. Each news must have a voice that's unique to your publication. That's how you gain visitors who turn into loyal readers over a period of time.

Write good content and not be spammy... promote on social media and try and build some clean links manually

Does some PR for the articles you're writing, and they might get linked to naturally.

Or do some guest posting. If you can write, that shouldn't be hard.

My main goal is not getting more readers. In 2016 we had around 162k uniques and around 260k impressions.

It's more regarding becoming more relevant for google then my competitors.

We also are kinda unique as we're more kinda critical within our niche and not just reposting press releases or such. I have like 12 years experience working in the industry we're blogging about, as well as my editors have some experience working for some major companies. We try to apply our knowledge "from within" to create a more realistic impression of what some companies are doing.

Also we see ourselves as bloggers and not journalists. That's why our content is mostly opinionated ;)

But it feels kinda like being stucked at the moment, though our metrics are going up and if PR still would exist we would be ranked between 5 and 6.

It probably just takes some time to improve even more and Google adjusting the authority.

My main concern though is, that metrics like sistrix are relying on a fix set of some millions of keywords and as we're in a niche it feels like we're never hitting some of those hard enough to get noticed.

Do you syndicate across all social networks?
I run a spammy news site, all auto-blog from others RSS feeds, and I rank higher for the news story(that I credit back to them with no-follow link) than some of my sources. My secret? I syndicate my content via IFTTT, plus SNAP, and have build IFTTT rings for some of my syndication sites. I also auto-retweet stories after 1hr, and some of my sources which give me more evergreen news, I auto retweet them 2 days later as well. I have found this gives my news a bit more velocity, and gets shares out there. This has picked me up many shares naturally, and build my authority in the niche.

So, u have ur own set of websites which you syndicate your content via rss to?

I definitely need to take a closer look into ifttt though. Maybe you can contact me and share like an example setting of 1 ring of automated push. Definitely sounds interesting.

With auto-retweet u mean u retweet tweets from ur origin twitter-account with 2nd or 3rd accounts? do you retweet also other content or only yours? Same for Blog-Network - like additional wordpress with excerpt and backlink? definitely sounds interesting!

So i have my news site, then I have all my syndication sites like:
    Tumblr
    WordPress.com
    Blogspot
    Weebly
    Flipboard
    Pinterest
    Google+
    Twitter
    YouTube
    Facebook
    Etc...
So, every piece of content I write goes out to these properties, each of which is claimed under my site brand, my site logo, and such.

Auto retweet: I had someone on Fiver design a plugin that automatically retweets posts from categories based upon the parameters I set up. It tweets it out to my primary twitter account, with the line "did you miss...". Example: any post with the category "blue widgets" gets tweeted out 1 hour after posting, and it has already been tweeted out when first published, posts with the category "evergreen widgets" get tweeted out 2 days after original posting and was tweeted out when posted.

I use IFTTT to tweet out a 'Hi' to all new followers. I don't auto tweet anyone else's content, I do that manually, once a day based upon my niche's highest time of engagement.

My Blog-Network are the web 2.0 sites I auto post my content too, WordPress.com, Tumblr, medium, and same sites. I do occasionally build backlinks and such to this network, I have bought some cheap PBN blasts, and bulk single page web 2.0 blasts to build authority to those sites, otherwise I build almost no links to my site directly.

Open up IFTTT, you'll see how helpful it is to syndicating your content and building your brand. I am working on setting up some more recipes on IFTTT that will only share specific stuff.
My best advice for IFTTT, if you are going to set up a 2nd tier ring to build backlinks for a property in your primary tier, go to fiver and find someone to make it automatically, stipulate the properties you want, and make it it's own brand(include a logo). Costs me $10 per ring doing it this way, but it is backlinks that keep giving me juice, and give me social shares. You can build up all the different properties yourself, but I find the hassle vs cost to be worth spending the little coinage.
I am currently looking at doing a 10 ring set of only social properties as well to my main site, so it just increases my social shares.
