Hey everyone!

I’m working on a project where the main search intent is more transactional than informational – let's say it’s all about “sneakers.” So, I want my site to be the go-to for sneakers in Google’s Knowledge Graph. But since people mainly search with buying intent, I’m wondering:

How do I build topical authority with entities and sub-entities (like different sneaker types, materials, etc.)? I want to cover the topic thoroughly but don’t want the content to feel too “fluffy.”

Would a blog still be helpful to cover more informational aspects? For example, would it be worth creating posts about “how to choose the right sneakers” or “sneaker care tips,” even if the main focus is getting people to buy?

I’m trying to strike the right balance between optimizing for the Knowledge Graph and aligning with that transactional search intent. Any tips on content structure, entity mapping, or best practices for this kind of setup? Thanks!

Focus on mapping entities like sneaker types, materials, and uses directly to your main product pages. A blog can still work if you keep it practical—think ‘how to choose sneakers for running’ or ‘sneaker care tips’ to support buyer intent

You won't build authority by just having transactional posts.

You definitely need a blog for this. Transactional search intent will only get you so far.

Yes, a blog is key—focus on practical guides that support buyer intent
