There is tonnes of info about building micro niche sites, but not that much regarding authority sites, even though they are probably the most stable.

When building an authority site, do I just choose a very broad niche, or a smaller one? How many searches per month would be good for an authority sites?

If I was to use wordpress for my authority site, do I target a new keyword with each category, and have long tail keywords as pages within that category?? I don't know ..

How many pages/articles is considered OK for an authority site? I dont mind writing 10 articles per day, but how long should I do this for?

How long do you reckon it takes to build and rank a decent authority site? & do you reckon owning 10 of them is feasible?

Can you think of any examples of an authority site? (Not one thats real, just give an example of a broader niche and what type of content you would put in)

I hope this makes sense .. Any help is appreciated!

How long should you do this for?

Probably as long as you have long tails. The bigger your niche is, the more pages you have to create IMO.

I think that authority is not that different from microniche, except the number of pages. You just get more traffic because you have more keywords.

Hope this make sens for you :)

    Definitely. .. Thank You!

So it's essentially the same as building a micro-niche, but you target a slightly broader niche, with more scope for long tail keywords?

There is a difference between an authority site, and a site with a shitload of content.
If the content doesn't rank well, it is not really an authority.

    My advice:

Start small, target low competition terms and expand from there.
Authority sites don't target keywords in every post, so "write for your readers"
Authority sites don't stop producing content, that's why they are authorities.

Best advice I can give, read his posts -----> BassTrackerBoats

its true when we write for the readers (not for the engine) then Google will give us high autority score.

This might be obvious; For micro sites you can spam and have low quality content. For an authority site you need high quality content.

Start small, write for your readers/good content and then expand.
