How to Better Monetize my 10k visitors a month website(currently adsense)?

Hey there BHW,

As seen from the thread title i have one reasonably succesfull game quiz website that attracts 10k visitors(80% new 20% returning) a month with about 31% bouncerate.
Currently i am only making an average of $1 per day with adsense with a 0.10% ctr.
In my opinion there should be better ways then adsense to monetize this kind of traffic.

Does anyone have some tips or insights?

Place some niche products, if you are using wordpress, then woocommerce is the way to go. Order products from dhgate/amazon/ebay.

Try content.ad or if you get accepted taboola.
Additional to adsense!
You can also try popupsponsors but make sure their ads are compliant with adsense guidelines.

You can probably multiply that by 50x just by improving that CTR.

Search for adsense A/B testing and keep experimenting with colors and placement until your CTR is into the single digits. Over 10% CTR is possible, which would mean 100X improvement over today.

You could earn more money by creating a paid quiz that might get you more income. It might not increase much but definitely more than $1 a day. You could do both at the same time why not try it.

Thanks! I might try to sell some products on the website or link to affiliate products.

Is it handy to have that many ads on your website? I already have 3 per page.

Never thought of this. Im using graphic ones at this moment. You think plain text and links ones are better? Increasing it to 5% would be a dream already. I might add a "please remove your adblock kind of plugin". Do you think this is worth it vs the visitors that will leave?

I might try this although we only have about 5-6 quizzes a year so ill have to think about it.

Maybe ur visitors mostly not in buying mood. Try native ad network, taboola, outbrain or native.ad. Their ads look creative & easily adapt to ur site.

Maybe consider creating an app for your visitors to download. You'll be able to monetize that with adsense also

Quiz products on Amazon, if you make something interesting enough to click on you'll get commison from any other products they buy!

Also if you have 20% returning a monthly paid option would be a great idea as someone else said

It is mostly tier 1 traffic with about 42% americans, 7,6% canadians, 5% united kingdom, 5% germany and more random countries.
