How to avoid scam when selling your domain?

    I got an offer via email to sell my domain. What steps should I take in the process of selling and transferring domain in order to avoid scam?

    Ask them to pay you via paypal and email you a transaction ID, once the payment is verified you'll transfer the domain name.

    You can always do an escrow. I've sold multiple sites where people have emailed me about purchasing a domain and then they paid via paypal and I've never had a problem. It generally sorts things out pretty fast when you give them a call and outline the process for them. Though if it's over $500 I'd say go with an escrow service.

    If your going through PayPal, make sure you take snapshot of your current whois information. Later, you can use this as proof the buyer received the domain if a dispute were to occur. I wouldn't recommend using Paypal for transactions over 1K

    try escrow or wire transfer before giving ur domain out

    paypal is not safe
