Spin it a little, like change some words and some phrases and than like the First rule can go Third on your forum and stuff like that. Also those are rules so no one can tell you shit about duplicate content .

No this is not what i was asking for. I was thinking about using Rel="canonical" tag or make these duplicate pages no=index

i just don't know how to implement this properly.

Who cares about duplicate content here? Are you trying to rank your forum rules & posting guidelines pages? You don't have yo worry about a site-wide penalty because two pages share content.

If only Techxan was here to do a better job of explaining this.

Don't worry about the content in forum rules and guidelines. It is not taken as duplicate content.

You all say that because it is 'rules and guidelines' it does not count as duplicate content, but i believe google bots or algorithm don't care what is topic of the content. If it is duplicated then there is chance of getting penalty or at least it could negatively impact domain rankings altogether.

I would re-write the content a bit, or just post a link to the original document.

Just noindex those pages. There is no point on having them crawled. If you're talking about user generated. There are a couple plugins that help.

..safe bet I'll re-write the content even if it's a forum, worst case scenario your time spent doing it
or just spend $5 for the re-writing offering a perfect feedback on any of the outsourcing times, why not
