    (i'm pretty sure this isn't illegal :))

    anyway,

i'm guessing most of you drive faster than normal since it fits in naturally with our 'breakin the rules' lifestyle

i've pulled off the following maneuver twice already so i think there may actually be something to it..

lets say you accidentally pass by a cop while going 85mph in a 65mph zone. he's got your speed on radar and you know you're about to get chased down. in this situation you should...

first reach over to the back seat, grab your black hat, and put it on. next, immediately start slowing down, and shift all the way over to the rightmost lane (if you're in the usa), and continue to slow down until you're going about 55mph.

what this does is significantly increase the chance that the cop will lose track of you, especially if there's a moderate amount of traffic around.

    because,

after the cop's clocked your speed, he has to pretty much memorize what type of car you were driving, and then wait for a break in the traffic so he can enter the highway. after that he has to guess how far ahead of him you are now, and then try to catch up to you.

the two times i've had to do this, i saw the cop pass right by me, with a big smile on my face of course :)

additionally, if you're near any exits, you may want to just get off the highway and lay low for a few minutes (grab a burger or something), just in case the cop realizes what you just did there and slows down to try to find you. if you get followed down the exit ramp, you can always just say you had to take a piss or something.

anyway, that's how i avoid getting speeding tickets after-the-fact. please test this out the next time you find yourself in a similar situation and report back on what happened

    :)

I got pulled over by a cop on a bike once...
I had my friend keep him busy while I told the officer I had to go take a pee.
i went to the back and took the key out of the bike, came back, and acted like the most arrogant ass ever. I said "well anyway, nice talking to you" and pulled away...

My friend was real scared until i told him I had the bike's keys...lol

very bad i know, and im sorry cop....

(Im from Africa, things work differently here)

I found pulling over into a service station for fuel seemed to work a charm of tricking the cops when I was speeding.

not trying to hijack the tnread but heres whatbi do to avoid duis since i already got and had to pay out the ass for it
ok your drunk see a cop behind you all you gotta do is take a corner and get out of his sight for like ten seconds, put ur car in park, get out like you just reached you destination and either throw you keys in the bush or give them to you friend. what youve just done is take away the cops ability to say foe 100% sure it was you driving and you arent required to do any type of soberity test if they dont pull you over while moving. i personally have gotten away with this twice and have two friends that have done the same thing. now you could be totally sloshed but id you pull into a liqour store/pub/gas station and they lose sight of you for more that ten seconds whos to say you were sober when you got there and just slammed 8 shots? all you need is reasonable doubt

Alternatively you can just look the cop straight in the eye and do this (backseat Bert optional)

I have gotten out of my last 2 speeding fines by playing the sympathy card. I had a bone tumor last year but i keep the scans in my car so when i get pulled over i say crap like "i just diagnosed with a bone tumor, here are the scans". The police offer just crumble inside and let me off with a warning. Works for me.

In Australia, and more so in Victoria speeding is THE cardinal sin of the century. Driving just 3km/h over the speed limit will land you a $156 fine. The majority of speed traps are covert mobile speed cameras, set up as normal looking cars with a speed detection device mounted on the bullbar. You can spot them if you know what to look for (ie a suspiciously parked, newish model car with a tinted rear window) but as driving past you will see the flash going off like crazy, they would be making $10k/hour on a good day.

Then there are fixed red light/speed cameras. These badboys will get you if you run a red light, AND if you happen to speed up to make the lights, BAM! Double whammy.
Now I ride a motorbike as a daily driver and these things are extremely dangerous in my opinion. You see, every time I see a fixed red light/speed cam, I check my speed, and watch fix my gaze on the lights, but the problem that I've experienced a few times is, when riding in the wet and the road is greasy, I'll approach the intersection, I'll be about 25m away, the lights will change amber, so I have two choices, slam on the brakes, try not to hit it too hard as to get into a slide, or speed up to try to clear the lights. In this case, it would be MUCH safer to speed up, even if I missed the red light by a few fractions of a second, but of course this would result in a $370 fine and loss of 3 demerit points. And don't even bother trying to write a letter of pardon, the best you will get is a reply saying in black and white terms, 'Well, you should have known better and not been riding so fast.'

Then you will occasionally see the odd traffic cop (very rare) strategically placed behind some bushes or a large roadside sign.

Now of course the government will insist that this is all for the greater good of saving lives, but we all know for damn sure it is more about revenue raising than anything else.

    /End rant.

The only thing that's going to allow you to get away is a dumbass cop with a side of luck. Chances are if you're speeding there isn't much traffic, and if there isn't much traffic there isn't much chance you're going to get away.
