Lets be honest, requesting a guest post these days is no different than saying, "Hey, I want a link on your site. Can I write a post and get a link in return?"

Cut the bullshit. I want to reach out to some people and say, "Hey, we aren't competitors but we've got sites with similar audiences. Would you mind adding a link to my site on one of your pages?"

Trying to stay whitehat for this client. Whats the fine print for what is okay? How do I need to phrase this? I used to have a link to somewhere where Matt said whats not allowed but I lost it.

Writing guest posts for real sites and including your link in the content IS white hat, so not sure what you mean? Just contact guys in your niche and as long as you have something decent to tell his/her readers, then I see no reason why they would refuse to cooperate.

Man, no one on this forum reads shit... My OP said
I'm saying, screw the work of guest posting. Whats a good way to phrase the question of link exchange. I know people "suggest" their articles with broken link campaigns. But for get broken links. Was looking for some brainstorming.
