i see for some sites offering affiliate programs, referal links ranking better than the original. ex: http://www.site.com/sell-page ranks second after http://www.site.com/sell-page/ref?=1234567890
how they do that?

I got my referral link there when I just submitted it to google :)

Usually doesn't work, but if the site is new it might work.

I got a site that this happened on where I really didn't do anything different than normal. Posted article on the site, bookmarked/pinged them some, and left comments at other places for getting backlinks.

I guess when G went through my article, they decide that my affiliate link pointed to the authority site which put it in the number 1 spot. I tripped out the first few sales I got seeing that the clicks came straight from G (bypassing my page) and STILL contained my aff id #.

bmph8ter, thats a sweet! And you didn't even have to deal with G's limitations on affiliate links in adwords. Nice.

No doubt right? The first sale kinda freaked me out as I thought something had gotten screwed up. But after the next few, I did a little :yield: I think the link finally disappeared from G, but there are still some sales coming in as the same thing happened on Y.
