In WordPress, you just need to change your permalink structure through the admin panel. Very simple stuff.

It 's url rewriting. You can use the Apache server's mod_rewrite module to do that. And yes, it helps a lot on search engines.

Just watch on any first page of Google for your keyword. Are most of the site use "+" instead of "-"? I don't think so.

Majority (if not all) of pages ranked with "+" in the permalinks are search results on the corresponding websites...

Here's how it works... Someone searches a query on my websites. My CMS generates a dynamic search results page. But, I've a script that cache's those dynamic pages and my site linking structure has something like "last 50 searches" - this would help getting the cached page indexed.

Actually, these pages do rank well. But since they have no significant content... they only rank for lower competition.

And yeah, nothing beats hyphens... No proof though.

Any proof that +'s are more effective than -'s???

Depending on using + and - differs SE result. I am not sure but i think using + rather than - helps a bit more in optimization.

if you use wordpress just change your permalink structure to custom %category%/%postname% and don't forget to use your keywords your tags
