How the hell should i do this?

I want to edit tm templates in flash so i downloaded adobe shockwave player and it said installation successful but when i try to open flash files it say open with and there shockwave is not in the list.
also i cant find it in the adobe folder in program files.
it appears in add or remove programs but i cannot use it or find it where it is.
i even tried searching it.
any clue would help?
also is there any other program to edit template monster flash files?
