How the hell do identity thieves use a dead person ssn to sign up for credit cards?

    It never makes any sense to me how can identity thieves sign up for credit cards with a dead person's name and ssn when it has been probably deactivated and im sure the application does not goes through as they cannot verify information? Yet I hear more and more of this happening. Could they be using a recently deceased ssn as opposed to someone who died on 2012 for example?

    Your entrance into BHW is how does a person commit this kind of fraud?

    This is not the kind of forum that discusses ways to defraud but rather one that discusses ways to out maneuver.

    Yeah, they use recently deceased people's SSN, there are online databases that sell access for 10 bucks...
