I'm not a chick, I don't get Pinterest. Is there like a good how-to guide around here somewhere for starting out? I've started making some boards, pinning some links and images... and have no clue how I'm supposed to get traffic. How do you make it to the front page? Is there a way to post in a general category?

I have the exact question.. make the boards, pin pictures WHAT ELSE? HOW WILL PEOPLE SEE MY PINS? WHO SHOULD I FOLLOW? NO ACCOUNTS SEEM TO HAVE GOOD NUMBER OF FOLLOWERS TO FOLLOW FROM!?

Pinterest is confusing af...

The breakdown starts with Pinning your interest. Make group boards surrounding things you are interested in. For instance Transportation Form your groups for types of transportation ie trains, planes and automobiles then fill those groups with types as an example check pinterest.com/wsoaccelerator. Also use the search function in pinterest to explore and discover more

Yea, but how do people ever discover your boards exist?

There are some decent Udemy courses if you have a dig about on there.

Make some boards, put pics in it, and most important start following people, they will follow back and follow your boards. Also on profile there is a place to put your website so people will see it.

Just be careful about posting and pin, yesterday I was make 3 boards and in every pin about 3-4 pics from tumblr blog, my acc was suspended because of spam. I figure out that they are strict about posting and between every post, pin, should spend some time.

1. Create boards based on your account persona interest

2. Pin other peoples pins

3. Create pins from your website - use keywords and adjectives in description (eg 'Cute', 'Beautiful', 'Gorgeous').

4. Pin from your website with a ratio of 4 to 1 (for every 1 pin from your website, pin 4 of other people pins)

5. Follow targeted followers (followers or accounts related to your niche) For example: for makeup, follow users of Forever Young or MAC or YoungBlood.

The following ratio should be around 20% (for manual following) - meaning for following 100 people you will get 20 followers.

And this how you can start Pinterest from scratch, with zero funds.

Remember, most of the pins are re-pins from other accounts, so is quite easy to start Pinterest from scratch.

You just need focus and a targeted account.

Can you please share follow limits & everything important to not get banned?

Study yourself on social media.

Do you follow more than 10 or 30 people per day?

Try to use Pinterest for yourself for a week and then you will know what limits to use for starting up accounts.

Usually the first two weeks of an account I use them to create a base for a few boards and a few tens or hundreds of followers.

I never unfollow, not in the first month.
