    I found this link on another forum and thought more than a few BHW's might enjoy it. Just to be clear, I did not write this...This is not me. Original link below.

    Almost seems fake, but a great read. If its real, damn that's a sick feeling he must've felt when he realized what happened.

    I don't understand why someone would sell a solid monthly earner for so little. Unless you're hard up for cash or have some seriously bigger projects going on (Which the OP did not sound like he had). And a PR6 for 15 grand too... That kind of money comes and goes fast, but a PR6 doesn't. I wouldn't even sell a $100 a month earner for 15 grand.

    But maybe with 15 grand he can set up new sites which will eventually become PR6 sites as well. With 15 grand I could quit my 9-5 job and dedicate a full year into developing new websites, which could eventually give me enough income to retire on auto pilot.

    Agree, seems fake, but good read.
    The ending made it seem extremely fake by saying someone offered him $15,000. Why would anyone pay $15,000 for it, out of the blue, when it didn't have any more income coming in or anything.

    I don't think Google would be so nice in 2011. I could easily see that site never coming back these days.

    Does seem a little dramatic and fake... but I don't think Black Hat SEO fiction is very popular.

    I can live off of $800 per month - not gloriously but still paying all bills including food and transportation expenses. This is in Kansas City, Missouri (USA).

    That's $9600 per year. If I had $15,000 to start I could feel confident to spend up to half if I knew how to turn it around in less than a year. If I was sure I could be at least 50% as successful with even 1 out of 10 of the new sites I created, then that would still be a pretty good use of resources.

    Are you figuring in expenses for wife and/or kids maybe?

    Rent = $650 to $750 / Month
    Food/Grocery Shopping (Includes items like Shaving Supply/Laundry Soap etc) = $300 / Month AT VERY MOST eating like a King
    Cell = $60 / Month
    Internet/TV = $75 / Month
    Entertainment/Fast Food = $100 / Month

    $1285 Total Expenses, Living like a KING, Going out every weekend etc.
    $15,420 / Year expenses, and that is on the high end scale of what I would ever spend.

    If I was dedicating myself to IM, I would move in with a roommate and probably have closer to $800/Month living expenses as the other guy said. It doesn't cost a lot to be a single guy in North America, if you don't do drugs/binge drink/be stupid.

    I would say that if you have real friends, you can still do 1-3 nights per week of "partying" even at $800 per month if you are not into...as you say..."the binge"

    If you aren't too stressed about giving up, or at least curtailing, your vices (whatever they may be) for a few months to a year, you CAN get by in most US cities on $800 or less NO PROBLEM including web servers and domain buys.

    I know because I have done just that for the last year and 4 months.

    P.S. YES I have been VERY lazy...so sue me, I have been pretty happy all this time!

    @Kickflip, where the hell in Canada are you? I pay $1,700/month alone just for rent....

    The moral of the story is DO NOT OUT YOUR DOMAINS, EVER. He got what he deserved for plastering his domain name in the public eye.
