Some start-up companies, whom I am providing content writing services to, are clueless on how they can maximize promoting their brand with limited funds and resources. I tell them that building a successful business with limited resources is not far-fetched if they know how to take advantage of the web to help them get ahead. Here are three points (but not so basic for the experienced IMers) where you can start. 1. Website You need to have an online presence as more people are now using desktops or mobile devices to shop or find services. The website should be responsive and designed to attract your target audience. Your business name, address and phone number should be on the homepage where visitors can easily see. It should also contain contents that will attract visitors and increase conversion. 2. A social media presence There’s so much activity and engagement on social media. Use your presence to update your audience with promotions, specials, and other updates related to your brand. Consumers are now turning to social media when they want to discover new products and services. 3. Leverage the power of videos Widen your reach by creating relevant and informative videos that will give real value to people. Video marketing is increasingly becoming more effective because of popular video platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo, and it improves the visibility and authority of your brand. There are other ways start-up companies can promote their brands online, but those three will get them off to a good start. Given the limited funds of start-ups, what other strategies do you think should be done to succeed in online marketing?
