I've seen people say not to apply on Fridays and not to call the same day you applied.

Well, I just applied to a few today and would like to call to get approved today so I can work on some campaigns over the weekend.

Is it really a bad idea to call them the same day? Are AM's available on Saturdays?

Call or e-mail them as soon as possible. Don't bombard them though. One call, one e-mail, then let them reply. I've found that the more you appear available and willing to talk to them, the better. When I apply to a new affiliate program, I generally put something in the comments to the effect of: "Please feel free to give me a call at xxx-xxx-xxxx if you have any questions or would like to discuss my application. I'm usually available between xx am/pm and xx am/pm."

I have found that sending them one e-mail a week with a question about something (made up or legit) keeps them off my back in general. AM's love it when you are open and talk to them regularly. Don't make them hunt you down with a spear. They will definitely think something is up.

That being said, you need to prepare before you call them or they call you.

They are going to ask how you drive traffic to your site. You need to be able to respond with a good, general, white hat answer without hesitating. For example: "Lately, I've been having good results with doing some PPC on Microsoft AdCenter and Myspace."

They might also ask you what your monthly budget is. I got asked that one the other day and it threw me little because I wasn't prepared. I responded with "About a thousand, but that really depends on how well I did the previous month." I mix legit PPC traffic in with my BH stuff, so this was true. If I had a shitty month, I'm going to have less to spend in my WH ad budget.

I've also found that they typically have an "account technician" call you to verify your application and ask you a few questions. Once you get past them, you'll talk to the AM, who will ask you basically the same questions. Keep track of your answers, because they are.

Doing all of this got me into (and keeps me in) Neverblue, Copeac, MaxBounty, CPAEmpire (Now Affiliates.com), and a few smaller networks. I rambled a bit, but I hope this helps.

Thanks. I did just end up calling them yesterday a few hours after I applied, but just got a machine and left a message.

I already have all my ducks in a row for the phone call, already read through all the "How to get accepted" threads. I have a little printout with answers to the questions and everything.

Whatever you do, try not to talk about email promotion and email / zip submit offers. They usually ask and when you say yes, you immediately raise a flag. They get anxious because of the fraud involved and they start asking ten more questions. You don't need that.

Just focus on ppc. They love ppc because:

    1) If you are doing ppc, it means you have money. So there is a lesser chance that you will try to scam them.

    2) If you are promoting offers via ppc, this usually means that you are in the cpa league for quite sometime, therefore you are experienced and you will cause less headache.

    3) People who are successful with ppc direct very targeted and quality leads so advertisers and the networks make money and are happy with the conversion rates.

    4) People who promote via ppc usually can drive an extensive amount of traffic in a short period of time which means fast money for everyone.

Just say no to zip submits if they ask. After you get accepted, just promote some offers and make some money. Then, you can go ahead and talk with your am and ask their permission to try an email / zip submit offer.
