How some ebay sellers list 1000s of items

Was checking ebay (in my native country) where some sellers have listed 50k items and sold in thousands within a year. Is it automated? What are the softwares used?

Yes, it's automated more than likely. Although they could be using VA's or employees to constantly be listing things.

Personally, I've used listing software such as HydraLister before and have been able to list a few hundred things in a day.

If they are listing that much stuff, they have to be using a software. No way they could do it manually.
