I know html pretty well. I can edit the odd line or two of a theme/plugin in Wordpress.

I want to start creating and selling my own WP plugins. How quickly can I do this? I can't afford to outsource so have to do it all myself.

Is one month of 8 hours daily enough?

If you want to sell plugins you will probably want experience in PHP also. HTML/CSS would come in handy if you sold themes however.

It probably doesn't take long to sell them, just make a CodeCanyon account. 8 Hours a day would be enough to make some probably. As long as you are focused, you should be able to create/sell stuff in a month.

Dunno about plugins, but the theme approval process is a pain in the ass.

you can sell it no offense but first you have to give the demo and you have to take reviews from experts so you can sell your plugins 3:)

Wordpress is entirely run on php, CSS, and JavaScript. If you aren't fluent in those, you won't be able to create fully custom themes and plugins to sell. In order to sell, it needs to be your coding and not some minor "2 line" change in someone else's code

Sure, 8h.day is far enought if you create plugins for WP (themes will be more time consumming because of the number of errors due to incompatibility with servers configuration, plugins and even WP versions ... They are also the most hacked [but the most sold too].)

Careful: CodeCanyon will take 50% of each sale.

Marketing plugins work very well if you sell them on WF and you can try different pricing options (single site licence, multiple site & dev licence).

Last thing: also learn how to protect your code if you want to avoid your plugin or theme to be on BH forums with the mention [NULLED] or [GET].
