This is for review sites promoting Amazon... maybe a bit of CJ thrown in.

I am much more knowledgeable about skin care etc and rather work on a skin care authority site... whereas I would literally blow my brains out if I had to write about microwaves, toasters, fridges etc...

Are the conversions on skin care products (Amazon) etc.. generally just as good as on househoold goods like fridges, microwaves etc? I know the price point is lower but there are always some products

costing upwards in the $150'ish range...

Also curious about curling irons.... good idea or no?

Do these products geared towards women convert as much as coffeemakers, toasters etc?

Again; I am very familiar with the niche so knowledge isn't an issue... just curious as to how the conversions are if anyone has experience.

It all depends on how well you write your copy.

I've heard that skin care products sell very well. Good thing about that niche is that there are many options. You could write ebooks on skin care, you could promote CPA skin care offers, you could sell supplements that help with skin care etc.

For household goods, is there anything beyond amazon? Can you write an ebook about a fridge? I could be wrong but I think there are limits with building an authority site around appliances.

Why not start with projects that cost less. Peerfly has some nice trial offers that cost $5.95 to customer (Initially) and pay $40+ per sale :)

Skin care and anti-aging reviews are hot topic for blog, just make sure you write quality post and use images for comparison so that visitors spend more time on your website and visit in future.

If you are doing amazon, I would go for household items with higher price tags.

I pretty much started out my IM life with Amazon sites.

I took the view then, and still take the same view, that I don't really care how I refer people to Amazon (whether it's via a $100 product or a 50 cent product), all I want to do is send Amazon as many clicks as I can, in order to set the tracking cookies.

So far, that's worked out pretty well.
I have some review sites for products that are literally 20-70 cents in price, but are the type of thing consumers seek reviews for because the problem they solve is quite unique and often if one type doesn't work, another type will work.
Those sites were an absolute walk-in-the-park to rank, because 'conventional wisdom' meant that my would-be competitors never bothered building review sites. I send somewhere in the order of 70,000 users to Amazon via those sites each month... and, of those, a nice chunk order other random stuff, on which I earn my commission.

Moral of my story - who cares about the value of the product. Just send the traffic.
