Posting fresh content for your followers is a good trick but only this will not work. You have to try Facebook paid ad as well.

You either need time or money or both to get those followers. If you don't have money then be ready to spend a lot of time... It's possible but it's difficult.

If you have a WP site with traffic then just jack the visitors at your site so they become followers of your FB profile
