I have 3 main sites I use that were all ranking #1 for their keywords. Two of the three sites are still ranking for their main keywords. The other site bounces around from 1-3 for its main keyword and then lands on Page 2 for it's alternate.

My most visited website prior to Penguin averaged 2,500-3,000 visitors per day. Today it is about 1,000 visitors per day less. I checked my analytics and it looks like prior to Penguin I was getting a lot of traffic for long tail keywords and keywords I never tried to rank for. I noticed this across all of my websites. Has anyone else experienced the same thing?

No mine is different. 2 sites got hit around 24th to position 300+ and about a week or so later my main site got hit and lost ranking to position 600+ (possible 950 penalty?) for over 100 keywords. These last few days I have been working hard at bringing the on page optimization down for all of my pages, but I see no movement. Lost hope for this site xD.

None of my sites were affected, but from what you say, means that you lost the value of some links and you need to compensate.

Never got affected by any penguins.

I guess it's because I do not have websites, that would rely only on SEO.

Yea, I am working on creating quality backlinks to my main sites. I am going to focus more on social websites linking to my main site. I was working on creating two more sites, but now I am going to use my affected sites for backlink experimenting before going forward with the new ones.

most of the long tail traffic in my niche goes now to the most trusted sites. Almost all of the authority sites build by webmasters have been wiped out.

    Didn't have any sites impacted.

Then again, for the past 1+ years I've used a ton of link anchor diversity, never tried to build more than 1 link per domain (on comments/forums) and used a lot of link type diversity from wiki, blog, bookmark, web 2.0, etc.

It's a conservative approach, but one that works (SO FAR)

I have a trial to the keyword explosion (available in BST thread) and I am tempted to give it a try on my site's long tail keywords to see if that has any impact. I'm also thinking about throwing those keywords into GSA Serch Engine Ranker and build backlinks to my site. I think the later might be the better option because I can get higher quality backlinks.

So much work and such little time.

My main site was #1 for at least 10 years, last year it was always 1, 2 or 3 for the main keyword.
On 24th it dropped to 11th. I've noticed that over 1k links were devalued in one go. I did some heavy bookmarking and it crawled back to 6th and is not going any further.

I have recently started a few blogs in the starting of April. I think my blogs are too new to be affected by penguin update. I do see some increasing organic traffic for most of my blogs.

I got hit hard by Penguin. Eight sited de-indexed and my overall traffic cut in half. My solution is a few new authority sites with great content and quality SENuke linking.
