    Hi,

Is there an impact on how often should I post an article?

I tried scheduling a post every hour, does it affect SEO? Or what if I miss a day not posting any articles, can it hurt my ranking?

Well it depends on a number of things. What niche are you in and generally how much existing engagement do you get?

Posting every hour? Thats not advisable. Pls abstain from posting on your blog so frequently.
The frequency and quantum of posts that you should publish is a very subjective matter. Ask yourself this question: Are you getting any visitors and readers to your blog? How many? Larger the audience, more you should populate your blog with content or else, post a couple of them only per week. Invite readership, only then it would make sense to publish more and more. Fewer BUT engaging posts would bring in more visitors to your blog ( of course...it goes without saying that you will have to perform onsite seo and attract search engine crawling / attention ). Thereafter when your traffic swells gradually, you too start to be more frequent in posting the content. That's my approach. I wish you Goodluck in your blogging!

I personally would stick with 1 blog post a day at max. Anymore than that may hurt your website unless your just starting out.

It all depends on what type of blog you have, for example, if you have a news blog you need to update frequently or if you have a blog about any specific niche then three to four posts per week is ok, however, post in every hour is not recommended.

I have a news blog, so basically there's an unexpected news that comes up. I'll try to slow it down to 2-3 posts a day

The Frequency of your posting time is totally based on your content & the type of audience you have, even though a late post didn't affect the SEO it may affect your reader count.

It doesn't really matter. You should post as fast/slow as you want. Because if you have a news website, posting once per hour can be too slow sometimes. And if you have a niche-targeted website, posting every day can be too fast.

One rule of thumb that I sometimes use is to check competitors (only those bigger/better ranking) and see their post scheduling.

There are no time limitations to schedule your post. If you have new pieces of informative content that will make your visitors happy and engaging means you can post.

If you are maintaining some schedule then you should continue it. You won't see any maximum effect in ranking but visitors point view it will affect.

    Hi!
I think you should not be posting by the hours.
You should wait up for a bit to post a new blog, as it helps in showing professionalism
    Hope that helps
    Thanks!

It depends on your niche and if it's required a timely manner you should do it and if you have the good readers for all your contents will make a good traffic and impact of it

Posting often in a day for a news blog is fine. You niche determines the frequency. But for other niches say...affiliate blog then twice a week at least is not a bad idea

i dont want to jump into conclusions, but if you post daily, on an hourly basis, than it must be some sort of low quality content.

Than, even if that somehow going to rank, is that what you really want your readers to read?

You must better understand you goals with this - many low level articles might get you more traffic in less time, but one superb article might get you tons of traffic and obviously more conversions.

Problem is, it won't get traffic for just being amazing or laying there, but at least a good piece of content can be spread / featured, and people are more likely to actually engage with it

Just my 2 cents on quality over quantity, it might not be completely true SEO wise, since im sure people are killing it with quantity too, but than again, its considering you know why you go for quantity in the first place.
