    Hi Rushdie,

It depends on what you're aiming for really.

Some people post every day as they believe this is better for seo. In many ways it is as google does have a preference to sites that update content regularly and if search engines begin to notice that you post every day they will begin to crawl you every day.
If it's merely rankings you're after - you want to be crawled regularly and drive lots of long tail traffic to adwords/banner ads etc - this is your best bet.

If you are trying to build a regular reader base then your focus should be on the quality of the writing then I would say post less frequently but write better quality posts. As long as you update your content on a reasonably regular basis you will still get crawled regularly and probably will still do quite well in Google.

800 words is quite long for a blog post, 400-500 is good and would mean you updating 3 times per week.

If you are pushing too many posts, then turn off pinging, and ping once every so many posts.

don't write long posts, instead use plugins, and pull additional content from tweeter, youtube, etc. then only write 150 word blurbs :)

Read the thread with keyword 'techchuck'

It's depend on the competition. 300 words article a day should be good enough. Try posting the article to ezinearticle first if they are unique and link it back to your blog. Once it published, post it in your blog. You'll get a lot traffic in long term using this. And SEO boost.

@dragon, post the SAME article on your blog, that is dupe content. I would not recommend doing that without 30% or more rewrite. No?

I don't think so, if it's just one time copied, you won't get big penalty from google. And if you are able rewrite that 30%, why not just posting more in ezine? Ezinearticles get extreme love from google. It'll easily reach first page of google and will help you earn money. I know couple WH-er that just rewriting 20 articles each day with ezine and easily earn $1000 in his first month (it'll still bring more for long term). I suggest do more with ezine first until your blog get better PR. Once it reach PR 3 or 4 you can publish unique article there since it have more power.

Write 3-4 new blog entries of 250-350 words every day.

Ping the blog on the 2,4th entries or the 1,3 if you are only doing 3.

Remember the SE's love fresh content.
