Lets say you have 9 variations of the same keyword,

    Each is treated differently.

Can you deploy Backlinks to all 9 ...

Or is it the overall URL which might draw attention????

I want to roll with adding a couple of thousand but need the answer before proceeding?

Go with all 9, i am constantley sending thousands of backlinks to all of my keywords everyday. Plus the more related the keywords are the better you rank for each one, because it simply adds more power. Wish you the best :)

Yes, you should go with creating backlinks for all keywords, since this would take care of anchor text abuse penalization as well.

Definitely use multiple keywords. If you rank for one main keyword that's great, but if additionally rank for a few more keywords that's even better.
Remember, only links without the 'no-follow' attribute will pass on anchor text.. Officially that is.

All love spread but... What I mean is...

do all 9 keywords for the same domain adding up to a sudden jump of 2000 total backlinks

or do a few keywords at a time adding up to a total of a few hundred each time...

My fault for not explaining it..

Build them all evenly and slowly so you get steady growth across the whole domain. Running out and creating 2K backlinks in one day isn't always such a great idea. IMHO you're actually better off spreading your 2K over several URLs, to start with at least. Once your domain has some age and some existing backlink history then you can start hammering the links to individual URLs a bit more seriously.

You have to remember not all the links will be seen at the same time.I never ping for this very reason.I think nothing of doing 200k blasts at the same time because I know links will fail, they won't all be found at the same etc.2k if you're using scrapebox is not even a starter. If you only do 2k run the backlink checker see how many you've actually got out there to be found. Also use scrapebox to find high PR manual links.Very often due to the internal structure of decent sites on comment can yield over 10k if links,I've done it.
Your site is very established I'd be shocked if anything happened that wasn't good.
    Anyway good luck.

With a 5 year old domain I would think you'll be fine, but I'm always nervous about suggesting something even when there's a tiny risk.
