My second question would be, how much a lead worth?
I know, you guys will say its $1 for each lead. But isn't it depends on the niche and location of subscribers?

Never tried email marketing before. But since I have joined this forum, I often hear, The money is in the list.
Email marketing is the main area of IM, and that's why I want to give it a try.

I did a test yesterday with social traffic, spent $11 and captured 70 emails.
Is that a good number for that spent?
The niche was fat loss, and 70% are USA subscribers.

I think for a white email list (targeted) it's pretty good )
    It's about 0,16$ for 1 email.
I've seen proposes to sell emails for 1,0-1,2$ in the same niche.

The money is in the list because the list doesn't go away. Once you have the list and you break even on cost of acquiring the list, every blast is 100% profit.

Those numbers look good, especially for a test. I would spend another $40 or so you have in the 300 - 400 subscriber range, then mail them something and see what your open/conversion rates are.

If you promote something with a $50 commission and get a conversion, you have just broken even, and you have that data forever. See?

"What is a lead worth" is too vague of a question because it all depends on how well the leads convert. Some weight loss emails are probably worth $5 each, some are worth $.02 each. Those are imaginary numbers, but you get the point. The only way to find out how much each email is worth is to grow the list a bit and do some testing.

    Good luck!

In that test, I was redirecting users to CB product after subscribing. And yes I got a sale with commission of $4 and if buyer won't cancel his/her subscription of that product, I might receive another $35 within a week. So yeah results are pretty quick.
Also the landing page wasn't even good, since it was a test, I set it on a free blog with a free email autoresponder.

Hey OP, you might know some of the stuff I'm about to tell you, but I'll tell you any way in case you don't:

First, before you send traffic and start building the list, you need to have a plan. How will you drive traffic? How will you monetize? Too often I come across people who send traffic to build a list but then they don't know how to monetize because they didn't plan to get that far. Here's some tips for you:

Landing page: make sure you split test them. split testing is so powerful, you could potentially bump up your optin conversions by 20% or more.

Set up an autoresponder sequence where you promote products and give some info away for free. There needs to be a balance.

Also, use a paid autoresponder, they're much better.

No , the idea is to build a list to get buyers ,
you cherish the list and try make it as active as posable.

You dont rent the list or sell the list you work with the list.

you continue to build a list but you also treat your current list users with freebies so
eventually you tru a product your selling there way you make sales from them products, you continue this untill u get very rich then sell the list by x24 moths profit.....

    Thanks.
Yes, I know some of these things, but they are still new to me because I never tried them.
Yeah, I have to create a plan, I don't even know how to write a good email.
I am not that good at landing pages and email template, so the investment for the next test might be lil more than expected because of outsourcing.

No, you send them a small advert with a link to the optin page (also called a squeeze page) directly. You don't send them to your website. You need to make sure your optin page has a bribe - for example, "top 3 weight loss tips" PDF in you're in the weight loss niche.

Split testing can be done in many ways with many plugins or softwares. For example: http://unbounce.com (not an affiliate btw).

You create two optin pages and grab the link to the rotator and you promote that link. The link will automatically rotate between those two pages.

Cool, I understand :) I was like that before I knew how to market using email.

If you want my honest opinion, the best thing you can do is get a plugin that creates squeeze pages for you. Something like instabuilder (my favourite!) or profit builder. Im sure these can be found in the blackhat download section. That way, you save a ton of money and time, if you're in it for the long run that is. But its up to you. And of course, have a look at other peoples optin pages and take ideas from them!

    hope it helps :)

You got your money's worth with whatever you did, if you can try replicating it so you can run a larger sample size.

Thanks theshrewman and shadexpwn for your words.

The testing is still going on, so I want to give an update of yesterday:
I registered to getresponse with a 30-day trial, used built-in landing page creator and hosted it on their domain, and it was all free. So no big investment yet.
LP still look so simple, but the main thing is to optimize it for mobile devices, It was looking fine in Chrome (mobile) but has some issues with other mobile browsers. But I still able to capture some leads.

Below is the result of $5 spend:

But these subs are not very targeted, only %60 are from tier 1 countries.

Since the last update, I got one more sale and as I expected, got the rebill commission today.

And the email list now has 70 subscribers.

depending on the goal of the marketing,i refuse to believe a lead is worth $1 per lead...if however you are marketing multiple businesses then it's fine otherwise,i think not,it's frustrating to market a large list and get replies but when it gets to doing bringing out the money clients aren't ready to do that...more like per volume $100 per 1million considering leads are everywhere is the right value for leads
