It's in the humor niche. It's pretty active, mostly videos that get around 200k views. Someones trying to sell it to me for 3k, but I've never really done any IG marketing and wondering if that's even worth it. The reason I ask is that's a lot of followers for only 3k, is instagram really that cheap? I checked a site that's suppose to test for fake followers and it says that around 400k of them are fake the rest are real. I'm not sure how accurate these types of sites are (I hope their accuracy isn't on the same level as those domain appraisal sites lol).

Anyway, I know the value is subjective and really depends on the person buying it, but if theres anyway to make money with people who just watch funny videos or if sending instagrammers to a funny site for adsense clicks would work then maybe it is?

EDIT: TITLE SAYS 2 MILLION FOLLOWERS BUT I MEANT 4 xD

    If it's active a 2mil account is worth $15,000 to $20,000.

2M acc and 3k ? Scam. A good 500k account sells for about 10k. Do your counts

There's a lot of people that don't know the real price of accounts, if you're having doubts you could use an escrow service.

If you have 4 million followers shouldn't you be able to make a killing from shoutouts alone? People here make $100+/day with their accounts that only have several thousands. That's $3000 in one month lol. Most people sell stuff like websites based on several months worth of revenue, meaning if a site makes $500 every month, you could sell it for $2,500. It would be an investment for the buyer.

It does sound too good to be true ... they guy is emailing me about it now . I'm gonna ask him to use escrow.com hopefully that'll show if he's a scammer or not.

Do be careful and best to use an escrow service. With that said, an account is only worth what a buyer is willing to pay.
4M and the account holder is not making money? Either a scam, a noobie that lucked out but knows not how to monetize the account, or a fake.

As for the others "making lots of money" but wanting to sell their accounts, you only sell when you're not making money. Same as in the real world. No one believes those "owner retiring", "a little advertising will go a long way, since owner only does word of mouth", "owner moving cross country", etc.

200K views, 50K likes, I guess no one here knows that you can buy those either!
View and likes count mean nothing. Buy a shout out before buying the account and direct them to go to a website that has Google Analytics. Then, view your stats and see where the traffic is coming from to see if it's real or not. After that, you'll know if the views and likes are for real or not.

Thanks for advice! Will definitely keep that in mind for future opportunities. As far as the seller for this account, that Western Union is a big red flag for me.

Tell him you'll send him a check with more than what you owe, $5K. Ask him to keep an extra $500 and send the difference in a money order made out to your favorite charity Salvation Army.

Be careful, also use a middle man. My advice is look the account over. One with millions of ACTIVE and REAL followers will cost you over 10k. If it's built with fake followers it's not worth nearly as much. You're really only paying for the impression of having a large following.
