Hey guys, this is a sort of a poll, I am interested to hear how much would you charge someone to post 1800 posts in wordpress (please only answer if you are familiar with wordpress platform). The post are mostly copy and paste similar to the posts seen on BuzzFeed.com.

It takes roughly 2 hours - maybe 2 and a half hours to post 12 posts daily - if you're going slow, you can do it in one hour or so but you can literally go nuts doing it so fast, so I'm just curious for one of my projects how much would you charge for posting manually 1800 posts in wordpress (post similar to the ones seen on BuzzFeed.com MetaSpoon.com etc.

Assuming you can do roughly 10 posts in 2 hours daily - that means you can complete about 30 posts in 6 hours or so which is a full day almost.

You do the math ... Any input is highly appreciated.. :)

Cheers

He said copy/pasted.

Copy paste - mostly - it's 180 x 2 = 360 hours of work?

Give it a try - you need to copy paste several photos, go into the source code and input all details into Yoast plugin. There's a quite a lot on each post.

I would probably pay for a CSV import script, I'd be surprised if a pluggin didn't exist to do this...

It can't because you cannot pull all the photos and video embeds and all the META data from the source code... ain't that easy... lol.

The best way to do this is to give it a try.... I can imagine many here have posted in wordpress but like I said this involves more than just copy pasting, the meta data has to be input into Yoast from the source code of the site you're copying from... In my experience 1800 posts can take anywhere from 300 - 400 hours of work....

What would be your price quote for this job?

Though the task doesn't require any special skills i highly doubt you will find someone who would want to work for less than 2$/hour which won't favour your ROI in my opinion.

$750 for 300 hours of work? That's like a salary in a third world country.

That's like working at $2.50 an hour. A serious hour. That shit is monotonous as fuck. Such a boring job.

$750 is what I would consider fair too. I'd do it for $1,000, now that I think about it.

You can possibly get someone to do it for less though. Like at $2 an hour, you can possibly get someone who wouldn't consider it slave wage, and do the work for $600.

But remember, the lower you go for how much you'll pay, the lower the quality of the work. In other words, I don't know if the job requires any thinking on the worker's part, or if it's strictly copy/paste 100%.

so you say you are not from third world country
you say it will take you around 400 hours
so 10 bucks an hour its $4000
easy

OP I PM'ed you 10 minutes ago regarding a solution.
The least you can do is to respond.

I'd say $2000 would have been a decent price.

Thanks I'll check my PM sounds interesting.

So... I received a PM (I'm respectfully excluding the part where he flamed me for questioning his intentions of creating this thread at all).

It's not a real project.

What kind of bored ass kid do you gotta be to make up a project like this and create a thread about it?
Thread creation privileges should be revoked for cases like this kid.

The obvious answer is negotiate as high as possible with your client, explain the sheer amount of time required to get this done. Then outsource the process for < $2/hr, take your profit & work on something more exciting.
