the footer has a "designed by ...." footprint. you could use it to navigate to the designer and approach him with a similar project and see what they'll quote you. my amateur opinion anywhere from 5k-30k depending who you hire.
that's the thing about web design. you can hire someone for $500 that does an equal or better job than the guy doing it for $10k. get good look at the portfolio of whoever you decide to hire.

if someone came to you and said they would like you to clone that site in WP you would quote them just $300-500?

I doubt I could do as good as that, but I'm sure a pretty good wordpress pro looking for a quick buck could rattle a good one up for that price. Its a bit beyond what I could do, that's why I quoted 3 factors, I see you think much more, that's good to know for people looking to build websites for others.

I was actually asking for a friend. I haven't made a site for a client in years but knew that prices had to have gone up.
He was quoted at 6-10k.
I may swoop in and offer to do it for 4k
