    Okay, this is my position:

I set up a website as a method of driving customers to a client, it's kind of like a review type site but not totally, I was more interested in how it might help him to rank initially - say it's for bathroom designs and each bathroom is worth about $3500, with a margin of say $850 per job.

This site is now getting about 2000 - 2500 unique visitors per month who are all interested in a specific brand of bathroom.

The guy I set it up for pays me $500 per month for SEO type services.

Do you think I could earn more by selling advertising on the site to other companies who sell that brand of bathroom?

I mean, if they are searching for info and reviews of that specific brand they're 90% sold on it - if you owned a company selling that specific brand, would you want to pay to put yourself in front of 2000-2500 people who are almost ready to buy it?

And if so, how much would you pay?

If you got 1% of those (say 20 people) making you $850 each - that's $17,000 in margin from $70,000 of turnover.

Would you pay more than $500 per month to get access to that?

    Or am I dreaming?

Adsense earnings are dire - the ads are not relevant to the products.

Thanks, need to decide what to do.

Sorry, do you mean $500 isn't enough then?

A good way to find out how much it's worth is multiple the cpc by the amount of monthly traffic

You know in SEO or Adwords you are worth as much as some one wants to pay. You can always try pushing for more.

do you own the site you created ?

I might be tempted if i did to get another few sites connected and act as a lead person.

But did this person pay you to create it for him? It sounds like he paid you, and in his budget you built this property to help him. So it is pretty shitty that you are thinking about changing who it's working for, if in fact it was his budget that "created" it.

Make a new site entirely if you plan on doing this. I would be quite angry if you tried to pull this on me.

    No,
he's been paying for SEO, for his rankings, I created this site and put a lot of work into it - he didn't pay me to build it - I built it with the intention of sticking adsense on it or that I could charge people for advertising if it ever managed to get enough visitors, and as a side benefit I could get a relevant link to his website off it.

But I own it and I paid for it.

I'm not happy with adsense so am thinking about the advertising angle.
