    Hi there,

I have been using this company that makes manual back links etc and in the past (pre Penguin) they have helped me get in 1st stop for these particular keywords. I have recently lost this site due to a long story, so I created a new one (but as a DOT co), with same keywords, keyword density etc etc.

Made new articles in Ezine and all the other places that I posted links in before.
Anyway they claimed to be Penguin safe, so I was going through the report they made for the initial work and found some links posted in an Italian website written in English linking back to my site. I am wondering if this will automatically incur a google penalty at all? as I think in Penguin the are cracking down on this? and my site doesn't seem to be doing a well as the other one, could someone please tell me if this is ok, or it is dangerous for Penguin? thank you.

Hmm why not? it's a simple question, will backlinks written in English posted on a foreign forum that is about say GOLF, hurt my site that is a about something totally different?

Not many, just a few, and they are all natural, probably about in the 20s or less.
The anchor text is my main keyword say "POOL" is one of them and then 3 words as another, say like "BUY A POOL" for example.

But I have asked them for more diverse links to point to other pages too now, my site is about 5 months old now and showing on page 2 for the 2nd set of keywords, actually made it to page 1, then went to page 3, now on page 2. but for my main keyword I want is nowhere to be seen yet. :(

    Any ideas? thanks

Did you ever hear that website was penalized for such links? I didn't.
What about multi-language sites, if to follow your logic, they all have to be banned.
    :)

Well yes I have heard about it, on a video on youtube, some SEO guy was saying that this type of scenario would raise a red flag, then if manually reviewed and the links look spammy, you could get de-indexed or penalized, so I am following my logic, obviously multi-languaged sites would have links posted on sites in that same language pointing back to the site, and if they ever did raise a red flag which I don't think it would, they would be left alone. I'm obviously not talking about them anyway.
