Just wondering how much weight a high DA carries in terms of ranking?
and in fact, does anyone have a list of ranking factors and their respective rates?

like for example, I have a spam site at the moment, it's 3 weeks old, blasted with GSA and it's average rank is now #11- it's medium comp keyword.

if I had that on a high DA domain, how much difference would it make?

It would make a difference in longevity for sure... there is a good chance your site is simply in the "honeymoon" period and will rank lower once G takes another look or two at it. With greater DA, generally comes greater trust which helps make your ranking stick.

High DA always ranks faster and for the long term just like Magic Mike says

I'd say DA is BIG in the overall ranking algos. Put anything under wikipedia and it'll rank, just to give an example.

DA/PA are always the "beginning" considerations for me (ie it will catch my attention). Even if a site has a high DA/PA you still have to look at what kind of links it has with a backlink analysis.

You can have high DA/PA sites that are built on pure spam links, so again it's the starting point not the final deciding point whether to purchase a domain or not.

In my experience and knowledge DA is very good at making things rank without any additional factors. For example, we optimize individual pages for specific keywords in order to rank them, where a Youtube page could just mention a variation of that keyword / phrase and rank it. Of course DA + PA is even stronger than just DA, but for certain DA can be overcame with proficient SEO both on and off page for an individual page. DA gives pages weight that otherwise would have very little in terms of ranking, and is definitely required for any serious long term project - but in the end it always comes down to which page performs better - not which domain.

I recently signed up to Moz, and they imply that DA is very important, especially in noncompetitive keywords.

    Example:

    Keyword 1: Difficulty Score: 28%
    Code:
    Moderately Competitive
Search results in this category require high authority domains with well-targeted pages OR lower authority sites with powerful individual pages to achieve top results.
    Keyword 2: Difficulty Score: 14%
    Code:
    Non-Competitive
Keywords in this range tend to have less powerful sites/pages in the top results. Rankings are achievable by pages on low authority domains with good on-page optimization and light link metrics.

What its saying to me, is high DA is effectively the default option for SERPS, unless there is artificial optimisation happening.

DA and PA for me are the keys to difficulty and ranking factors.
