if the keyword 'amazon' is a low comp, how much u will spend to rank your site in page 1? I will spend 10k to run a aff site, it's perfect to rank below amazon.com in #2 position in page 1 :)

You know this is the sort of question there's no way you're gonna get a decent answer for.

How much does ranking #2 for amazon cost? In the long run? Probably a million dollars. Churn n burn? Your 10k sound about right.

No matter what you do. You're simply not going to rank for "amazon" even with $100k budget. You'll be spending a lot more than that to deal with the lawsuits if you try to do so.

Log into your Adwords account. Go to the keyword tool and check 'amazon'. That'll give you a pretty good estimate for Google traffic.

That sounds like it may be considered cybersquatting (assuming you really are targeting Amazon or another brand, I can't really tell).

Anyway, something I learnt after one of my websites ranked for a brand name keyword was that when people are searching for a specific website in Google (e.g., Amazon), they tend to ignore every other website in the SERPs (I suppose they would click on it if the post was titled "is 'x' a scam?" or something eye-catching like that). In other words, you can receive all of the impressions you'd like, but you won't receive many clicks.

depends on the volume I will say, 1 million query for 'amazon' and u can't get 10k a month traffic? Are u sure? How about 2nd position in first page with the title of 'Amazon discount | limited time voucher' ??

All it will take is for name cheap to lodge a DMCA request and google will deindex the site. They could do it at anytime. Their brand name is in your domain name.

If you're ranking in the positions above the fold and you have an eye-catching title, then I'm sure you could potentially receive plenty of traffic from a keyword like "Amazon". I'm not sure how well "Amazon discount | limited time voucher" would perform in the SERPs, although I'm willing to bet many, many people would click on it before heading back to Amazon.

Of course, the keyword "Amazon" receives many more impressions per month than the brand name keyword I ranked for, so this is all just speculation (if you couldn't tell, my experience with ranking for brand name keywords wasn't too positive).

Just saying there is a risk, if you're ok with taking the risk, do it. Of course a simple way around it is to just do a branded domain.
