If you don't know what you need and how much it's going to cost, then you aren't ready to start the business.

Nothing if you can do enough marketing and get enough people to list their services. It's difficult to start this kind of site. If you are good at website designing then why not offer services on micro job sites and let them do all the marketing, hosting etc

Its a good idea though very hard to start, I still remember some years b4 someone posted the Wordpress theme, it got similar function as Fiverr lol, anyway. The hard part is not how to design a such site, but how to promote, how to let others flood in to post their services, how to let others know you.

For example, source wave is not famous before 2015 If i am right, but when alex becker got enough fans and use his marketing skill to lure the subscribers, then he opened the source wave market, and it is popular now, IMO, you just cant repeat the process by solely money.

Yes, It's hard just at the beginning. You should find some great seo freelancer.
    You can start with $7000 - $10000.

You need deep pockets and a really good team. The sites in that niche are already huge, have a lot of sellers, and take up most of the market.

What you literally need is the money to register the domain name and get hosting, along with the time and dedication to execute an effective traffic campaign in its first months. Many gig sites have bit the dust over the years, so you might get lucky and find an expired domain that used to be a gig site, that you could relaunch "under new management." This site may have good built-in metrics to speed up your launch.

Contact the best rated sellers on the top gig sites and ask them to post their job on your site. Contact your own network of friends, real followers and the like and ask them to check out the site and refer others to it. On the news or blog section conduct interviews with the top "influencers" in the industry, which should bring their audience to your site. That sort of thing.
