I launched a domain on about 20 days ago. I 301 redirected every single page from the old domain to the new one.

The old domain was ranking for some long tails, it was ranking very good in the past - prior Penguin 1.0. Then it got -100 on rankings (not completely sandboxed). I still see the old domain in SERPs and not the new one.

I have used WMT and notified G that there is a change in address but I still see 0 pages ranked in WMT. I started building backlinks to the new domain with a quality Tier 1 campaign using GSA SER.

How much do you think it will take before the new domain gets at least indexed?

Should I for example leave the sitemap of the old domain? As it is not redirected to the new sitemap directly. Or how can I make the sitemap redirect to the new domain sitemap.

It is probably indexed, but it takes some time to show in search results. You can also redirect the sitemap.

I did a few times and I usually get my rankings back in about 2 weeks. Last time I did it I got them back in less than a week.

Give it some time. The backlinks never show up before the first 2-3 weeks, but usually after that you will see your 301'd domain backlink profile on your new domain in the "links to your site" section of WMT

Better submit the sitemap to rss aggregators and bookmark the new domain to get it indexed fast.

shouldn't take long though it depends on the stats of the domains.

Just post some videos from youtube and submit video sitemap to google. It's a matter of hour. Generally less than hour.

301 on brand new domain? It will take a while, better use domain which is already indexed.

for such 301 redirects it is usually 1-2 weeks if you don't do anything else.. since you are already at around 3 weeks, you can try pinging the new urls, make & submit sitemaps, do some linkbuilding to all your pages

Usually when I redirect to an aged domain, it takes about 2-3 days for the site to start ranking in the right position, but when I redirect to a brand new domain, it takes a little over a week.
