This guy saw one of my sites and said he wants an exact replica of it (minus the name).

He has the domain and is asking me how much it would be for hosing + the site + around 25,000 backlinks + my effort.

I was thinking somewhere in the range of $3000 - $3500, but I've never done this for anyone before so I don't know what to charge.

I know freelancing is probably between $50 - $75 per hour, should I tell him that so it doesn't sound so much? >_>

I would probably work on it and get it done in two days, but it would take a couple weeks to get all those backlinks in YSE, and maybe a 1-2 months for him to start seeing a gain in traffic.

    Here is an example:

    100.000 visitors
    1% conversion
    27 $
    27.000 $ a month * 12 months

    = 334.000 $

    :D

But depends on the niche and if you can guarantee 100k visitors for 1 year. Usually domains get flipped by the sales they make within a year.

How sure are you that you can replicate those numbers?

    2100 x 10 = 21.000
    2100 x 12 = 25.200
so you can charge minimum 21.000 or 25.000 and add some plus for your effort, and because he will be your competitor.

I'm pretty sure I can, even go higher, especially if I'm paid to do it (more motivation :D).

Well dude the range of your price is no minus that the freelancer price and no more of what the site does in a moth *10

any price in that range leads you (the buyer and the seller) to a fair withdraw.

Ya I wouldn't low ball yourself, especially considering it may be a little more difficult to get another site like yours back up and running with similar visitors.

Also why are you selling an exact duplicate of your website?

OK i dont know if i missed something.

But why not duplicate it for yourself? and make more money?

also if this is same niche he will probably take over your niche and you will see your income get chopped down.

Okay, I told him $7200 and he hasn't responded back.

Forgot to mention the story for those of you wondering why I'm selling a duplicate.

I'm selling my site on Flippa. This guy saw it and PMed me saying "Can you make my site look like the one you're selling"?

Offtopic: I just lowered my auction duration from 28 days to 14 days. There's 43 people watching it and only a few bids -_-.

You'll get this a lot, people like to talk like they are big shit on the internet but when you mention cost they scatter like cockroaches.

I've got an seo client right now, one of his sites claims to be the largest finance firm in the country (it's not) - the guy's credit card declines nearly every time I try to charge it.

If you're making 2k+ per month then price it at one years income which is 24k. Then add in the hosting fees etc. If he is asking for you to host it and get backlinks, etc. you should probably beware. It's pretty sketchy if he won't even host it himself. Make sure to get paid upfront.

You will get 2100*10 = 21000$ for that Auction Approximately if there is stable income from 6 months.
