Is 1 GB good enough to run 2 instances on a 100mbps connection?
No , you should have atleast 2 gb / instance if you are commenting.
I have 1gb VPS 100mbps connection and here is what I am doing
150 Threads Commenting
50/50 (google and yahoo) Scraping
100 Threads Blog Analysing
50 Threads Link checking (using the free link checker from SB I find the inbuilt consume too much resources)
I see lots of people doing just fine with 1 GB running 2 instances
I GB might be too low for running more than 10 threads or so. I read somewhere that a single thread uses about 25MB RAM. So 10 threads equates to about 25% of RAM being used up. ANd with the system processes and other stuff in the background, you can't expect too many results.
I guess 2GB it is
It would be great to know exactly amount of memory to run scrapebox.
I will contact support team to know it.
Nobody knows it in fact.
If I can run 10 x 25Mb = 250Mb of ram ... I can try to use cheapest VPS with only 256Gb or 300Gb of ram.
When I got the reply I will post here.
I find something:
Number of instances x File size that software will need to manage will be the most important.
I will try it in a 350Mb VPS.
1GB ram would be ok.
Though it might crash if it needs more resources.
2GB would run it very smoothly!
well I am running it on just 256mb ram nd its going well but just for single thread ..
Stop trolling... I'm running SB on my PC (512MB RAM, 8MB internet connection) using 100 threads and it uses about 20% of the CPU. The success rate is also pretty high - 90-95% on lists that I personally harvest.
Good to read about 512Mb experience.
This is far good to show for people who only want to run Scrapebox with 1 or 2Gb that it is possible (I wrote POSSIBLE) TO RUN Scrapebox in a 512Mb based VPS.
My scrapebox license is stopped for months. I haven't used it.
I will contract a VPS to run it 24h / day.
It depends how big the lists are that you are using with Scrapebox.
Sure 512MB is enough if it's not server 2008 and if the lists are not bigger than 50k. Server 2008 uses a bit more memory than Server 2003.
Once you start working with 1 or 2 million URLs, harvesting/deduping or posting/linkchecking with more than 500k URLs etc then you can see how Scrapebox asks for more RAM.
So from my experience: 512MB minimum, 1GB to work with huge lists and 2GB if other applications should run parallel with Scrapebox.

I am using 512MB from xsserver and SB works awesome
1gb is ok but the system wont be very usable
Yup that would be fine
Something you should note:
There's no set amount it depends on how many connections and how bug the list is.
I have 4 instances of scrapebox running on a 1gb ram VPS from xserver.I never had problem and the system is running fine.
The 3.2 cpu will be hyperthreading, yes that'll make a difference.
I do about 6-7 instances 24/7 ... each instance is doing various tasks though (comments/PR checks etc)
I have 12gb of DDR3... it runs smoothly.
