I don't make much yet per month (making $xxx per month at the moment). I generally investing 75% of what I make back into SEO. I don't see any point in saving it. I could make that much working at Best Buy lol. The whole reason I got into IM is because you can increase your earnings with time/money. So until I'm making a decent amount monthly, I'm going to be reinvesting most of what I make, but saving a little bit on the side.

At the start I think you should reinvest as close to 100% as you can - it's the best way to scale fast. Just don't throw your money around willy-nilly.

These days I do roughly 33% reinvestment back into the biz, 33% investment into the investment portfolio, and 33% for living expenses / emergency fund and short term savings / play money. However I live a frugal lifestyle and often some funds from the last 33% get diverted into the first 33% if I have something good to spend the money on.

I got the 33% method from an Anthony Robbins audio tape and it's always worked quite well.

I do not buy articles or SEO services (generally), so I spend next to nothing of my profits in SEO.
I do buy software, that I feel helps me in some way, and I'm no scrooge when it comes to spending money in that area (haha SEnuke sucks though).

However, my profit margin from my sites is so huge vs my expenses, it's a very small percentage.
I have talked extensively in the past about how outsourcing doesn't work... well almost never works.
Eventually I would like to keep scaling up, if I don't retire before then, and bring in 1-2 more people to increase that much more, but really I haven't found anyone capable of it yet. I'm convinced I'd have to go recruiting at HYPS to find anyone, and since my operations are now moving overseas to avoid US taxes starting this year, I'm not highly motivated to deal with the hassle.

Instead I invest 100% of my time into it and I brought 2 close smart friends in to run the day to day operations so I can concentrate on SEO 24/7.

Since I run a service, I have a budget that I have to spend on SEO for every article I sell. There is no other way to generate sales :(

So Far, i have just earned 40 dollars from my Fiverr gigs. What i'll do is use these early earnings solely for reinvestments. I plan on buying some im tools (obviously with my the help of the day job salary) and use it to provide some seo service/s therefore extending my experience in SEO and hopefully multiplying the monetary return. :)

I spend around one third of my income back into IM. Not only SEO though. Also in designs, content, tools etc

    Great thread!

A lot - I spend some months loosing money but now I try to keep at 50% some months more some months less.

The key is to filter out the SEO services that work for you and you're bound to lose some money along the way but make 3x more when you filter it out.

    It's a patient man's game for sure :)

Will invest only when needed, like when its time to set up second site then i will invest hosting + backlinking that i'm not capable of doing, then maybe invest on other things like items for resale so i will get many income streams.

On average about 20% of my profit is re-invested into monthly subs, software, outsourcing, captchas, etc... Some months its a lot more.

I do 30% reinvestment, 30% Saving for taxes and 20% Savings and 20% play money

The 30% reinvestment includes Outsourcing, programs, servers and buying new domains.

Can you please please tell me how outsourcing does not work? Yes, you can save all your money so you do not have to invest but then you will never grow or grow at such a miniscule rate.

If it wasn't for outsourcing, I would be sitting there all day writing product decriptons and doing shit that people could do just as good or even better, for 2 dollars an hour.

You should be evaluating your time as money. If I were to run senuke all day, spin articles, my time is worth 2 dollars an hour because I can find goes and train them to do this. So, I am essentially paying myself for 2 dollars an hour. How in the world am I going to be getting ahead my competition when I am still paying myself two dollars an hour? Where is the growth?

Yes there are things you should not outsource and invest in. Things like running a business. Running senuke and writing articles are not running a business. Creating a team, setting systems in place and automating that process is what you should be doing. Systemizing everything will only work with outsourcers. You just have to find a good team of people which is really really hard but it is definitely doable.

I usually invest like 70% of it again, so that when I make big money, that 30% difference is going to be loads.
