Out of sheer curiosity I decided to do a little bit of math to see how much money Bill Gates actually makes.

It is currently known that Bill Gates has 56 Billion dollars.

He was born in 1955, making him 55 years old.

This means that Since he was born, he has made(rounded to nearest dollar):

\$1,018,181,818 per year

\$84,848,484 per Month

\$19,513,826 per Week

\$2,789,539 per Day

\$116,230 per Hour

\$1,937 per Min.

\$32 per second

Remember, this is how much he has made, if he started making money from when he was BORN. What he actually makes, is much larger than this.

I personally think that this is WAY too much money for one single person.

Wow... I was gonna respond but you wouldn't have the logic or math or finance knowledge to know what I'm talking about.

Your calculation is completely inaccurate and the numbers you are using are totally off.

I'll just say that much.

He did found the largest, private charity in the world and does encourage his elite donors to pledge significant sums of their billions to it upon their death...the list of those is everyone from Warren Buffet to Mark Zuckerberg. I am pretty sure his philanthropy and business contributions to the world have allowed him the luxury of kicking his feet up.

He does participate in plenty of charities, as well as scholarship programs iirc. Don't hate on him because he has money. That's like hating on someone for having a good sammich when all you have to do is get up and make one for yourself.

I just have to comment on this one real fast. Bill Gates has given away more money than most of us will ever dream of. I see you're trying to launch a "5 figure product", I hope you donate all that money to people who don't have food because as of 2011, Bill Gates has put 28 BILLION into his own charity and that doesn't count money going to others, how much will you be putting in to become more "human"?

Good on him. Seeing as we are all trying to make money we should respect this guy!

And yes he does donate a lot!

When he dies, he plans to give the bulk of his estate to his foundation. It has been cited that his children will inherit around \$10 million dollars. I think this man is a model for what a human being should be, forget about a billionaire human being.

He has his priorities straight, and unlike many of the "old money" people in the world, I see his children becoming contributing members to our society.

Bill Gates made a lot more than that, he donated a lot and also lost a few billion
so far he made at least twice as much (\$136 billion) as his current net worth (\$56 billion or \$61 billion according to Forbes)

but still, today's billionaires seems to be amateurs comparing to the richest of all time
the richest person of the history is Mansa Musa I, the king of the Mali Empire in the early 14th century
his wealth originated from his country's vast natural resources, salt and gold
good ol' days, when one simply could make money offline
his inflation adjusted net worth was \$400 billion

Bill Gates actually does wonderful things with his money so he deserves every bit of that success.

Btw, your calc is totally not right. Just because somebody is "worth" a certain amount, doesn't mean they actually have it in the bank. It's not like all of his assets are easily converted into cash.

For example, Zuckerberg is worth billions...on paper. When the FB stock fluctuated up and down..he was losing billions at a time, right? Is his bank account moving up and down? Nope, not at all - just his net worth.

Bill Gates hasn't really made \$56 billion, the bulk of his wealth is still in shares that he hasn't sold yet.

So if tomorrow one of your websites was to earn you billions, you would definitely not accept the money because it is "way too much for one person".

Unbelievable what can come out of the mouth of some people
