I have been working on a site in a great niche, great small keywords, along with targeting some low competitive long tail keywords.

The thing is nothing is going wrong, everything is slowly but surely moving up, but the domain I bought pretty fresh, had no previous backlinks, PR of 0 and is about 4 months old.

With that said I'm number 1 in bing and yahoo with a ton of keywords (Obv diff algo, I know), but the thing is with google all of the top 10 result pages are less relevant but much more aged.

My question is, when it comes to googles algorithm, is age a pretty decent factor in getting to the front page and staying there? (Site is all organic/whitehat btw)

    Thanks!

Sidenote: The keywords I'm talking about are currently ranked between 10-20/page 2 in google, should have mentioned that sorry.

Just keep updating your blog/site and wait for google to bring you up, I'm not sure if anyone can tell you how long it will take...

Yes and I am going to, I was just wondering if anyone could give me an idea of the amount of influence age has on a site.

I have watched webmaster videos that say site age is a determinant factor, I just wonder how much. Even a broad guess or story is fine, I am just wondering.

Age is not a determinant factor, maybe they said age because more time = more backlinks, this week I have outrank a competitor who have publish the post in 2011... so age mean nothing I think the quality of backlinks and diversity is a determinant factor not age, my domain have 8 years old (long sleep) but the site himself 6 month, so don't care about the age and look the backlinks profile !

Age as a ranking factor is much more noticeable when a site is new. A site under 6 months old will have more trouble ranking, but a 5 year old site does not have a significant advantage over a 2 year site.

Age factor is somewhat important, but all that matters at the end is your domain authority.
So you can have 1 day domain and redirect to it your old domain with its authority to the new one and Rank instantly, take for example the piratebay and their frequent domain redirects.

Its all about the Juice ;)

Age is one of the factors that is overlooked and not paid the attention it deserves. An aged website is multiple times easier to rank...
