    Hey guys,

I've got a network of TV sites which is just hit the $3k mark in revenue this month.

Anyway I have to sell them before the end of May and this guy has offered me $8,500 for the network and I'm not 100% sure if I should accept the offer.

So, could I please have your guys opinion on the issue? I would like to get back to this guy as soon as I can.

    Thanks in advance,

If its making $3k a month I would at least want $15k for the network. That is only 5 times revenue but most sell for 7 times revenue so try in the range of $15-21k or you will be getting ripped off.

The thing is, TV sites aren't exactly whitehat, so I wouldn't say it's worth 5x as much since it's more of a blackhat network.

Yep, agree with MoreMoney.. you could get anywhere from 5-10 times the monthly revenue for them...

Why would you sell them for $8.5k if you could easily make that in 3 months?

Guess it depends on how much work you have to put in.. if it's on full autopilot then no way is it worth $8.5k.. I'd be looking at around $20k+

There's really no way to judge a sites value. The saying goes, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

If you find the right buyer, you could probably sell the network for 10-20 times the monthly revenue. I'd recommend you make a new listing on SitePoint and set it to end in a month. Someone interested is bound to drop by your auction. (By the way, be sure to list it in the "Premium" section)

Depending on the type of site I would want a lot more than 8.5K.

Probably 36K (1 yr) if the revenue can be maintained. If it's black hat and lasting viability is in question maybe 15K or so.

Guys, he said REVENUE - not profit. If his revenue is $3,000, but his expenses are $2,900 then he is really only making $100.

Sell the site for 10x the monthly PROFIT.

Fair comment. Yea it's not autopilot. Technically it will only make 1/2 as much if you don't work on it, and you need to add episodes each week which is why it's so profitable.

Yea, I think I will just do that. If it doesn't sell then I will just keep it and profit from it in the future.

Sure thing, I will send you the info when I get home.

Yes the revenue can be maintained, however it will only earn $3k when their is new episodes being released, which is not every month of the year. It needs constant promotion (but not on a large scale) though as long as the TV series is around (which it will be for at least another 2 years) then it will make money.

Oops, I meant to say profit. The costs are like $100 a month maybe? Usually its less, I get the hosting for free so the costs are quite low.
