Lets say you have a website that has about 2400 searches monthly and is already on about page 4 without any off page SEO (all done through on page and low competition).

How much should I spend on getting it to page 1 so that I get a decent return on investment?

$151.60............dude hard to say man. Depends on the competition and some other factors, just keep backlinking until you get to page 1. Just buy a package, wait a few weeks see where you land and keep repeating until you get where you wanna be.

^^^ Yes, do that exactly. That's what I'm doing and so far it's working. Actually, I plan on getting a VA for the next few weeks to do all my SEO. I hope it works :)

My VA writes a unique article and submits to 12 blog / article networks.
The total cost for this is around $3.. I usually only have to do this once to rank for a low competition EMD.

It depends how much the keyword is worth to you. Some keywords have low search volume but are worth thousands. Decide for yourself what the best ROI is an know when to cut your losses.
