I know that having a highly unique spun article is VERY important for gaining in serps, but how much does the readability effect you?

Does goog actually have any way of knowing the quality of readibility?

And are there any other benefits?

The reason I ask is because it is a PAIN IN THE ASSSS to ultra spin articles to be readable and yet highly unique... while I could spend that SAME time making 10 times that many jibberish article spins that are JUST as unique but not very readable.

    Thoughts?

There was a thread where somebody posted an example of a website with totally unreadable content, yet the site was ranking #5 for a certain keyword. Even if you could reach high ranking with bad content, think about the potential visitor - nobody would stay longer than 5 seconds on your site, if the content is bad, which results in no conversions. It takes time/money, but you should use quality content only.

As far as I know, readability doesn't affect much on the ranking! I posted 100% unique totally unreadable articles on Web 2.0 properties with images and videos. And it gave me a great boost!

I believe the readability is necessary for article directories, and web 2.0s like hubpages, where they either have to get approved or are read by other people.

Make sure you have 100% readable content on your main site though.

Google's algo isn't capable of telling good from bad content. The visitors can though. If you want a site to be popular and maintain good traffic numbers you HAVE to have decent content.

For unique content I grab related articles off the web and read them. Then I fire up Dragon NS, sit back in my chair with my eyes closed, and dictate an article.

Works like a charm for me. :)

It comes down to what it is worth to you, and if you have any concerns regarding the image/reputation of the site you are promoting. Ultimately even the junkest of these articles gets read by humans at some point finding it through the long tail.

The better quality the article, the better the result... but only up to a point. Once you start putting a lot of content out there there is more than just big G going on there is stickyness, sharing, adding value if even just the slightest sliver ;)

For the main website, that's true. But for backlinking purposes, you don't really need to have readable content if you're posting in the right places :)

I don't think google can directly detect ureadable content. But they can, and do, measure the bounce rate... If you have an unreadable page you will have a massive bounce rate = non optimal serp.

Besides; if you want to earn money from a page it usually pays to keep the reader on that particular page for as long as possible: low bounce rate= big pile of $.

If it is just a page in a link piramide/wheel/etc. don't worry about the serps of these pages, just use the crappy content.

Ah exactly... so readable content is NOT a big concern for backlinking posts. Exactly what I was thinking. For manually approval AD's I just write new unique articles for each one anyway so I can happily blast away now.

    Thx all.
